“Perfect Pitch” seems to be a hotly debated topic. Some claim that you can only be born with it, while others say it can be learned. Whatever side of the argument you fall on, one thing is for sure: the ability to recognize pitches at will is a huge, tremendous asset to you as a musician. In this Pure Pitch Method review I’ll discuss what this popular package is all about.

Created by music pro Ryan Cameron, the Pure Pitch Method is a step-by-step course designed to teach you how to master pitch recognition in under six weeks. My hat is off to Ryan for putting this together, I struggled for years as a guitarist before finally learning how to recognize pitches. The funny thing is that I actually became a much better musician after mastering pitch recognition, and it improved my guitar playing immensely even though I wasn’t actually working on guitar technique.

So what’s inside? Good question. The course is broken down into two separate segments. The first is the Manual, which gives you 120 pages of step by step lessons. This can feel a little overwhelming at first, but try not to focus on the size of the course, just take it step by step. In fact, each of the 39 lessons is built on the last one, so you will really do yourself a favor if you just take it one step at a time and learn each one completely before moving on.

The manual is actauly broken up into two sections, Note Recognition and Chord Recognition. The course talks about each of these separately and goes into great detail about each one.

The audio portion contains 39 separate lessons that correspond with the manual. How long will the course take? That really depends on how comfortable you are with your progress, but six weeks is a pretty good ballpark. It took me 7 weeks to get through it, but that was because I went on vacation. My bass player finished it in 3 weeks.

Any downsides? Yes, there are two. The manual and audio are only available in English as of this writing, so this product may not appeal to the whole world. However, if you can read and understand my writing right now, you’ll be fine. The second thing is that the Manual comes as an eBook. I was a little disappointed at first, because I wanted to get a book in the mail.

However, I talked to their support and they do this for two reasons. One, you have lifetime access to any updates to the book, and two, you get instant access. I don’t know about you, but I like to get something in my hands as soon as possible after I buy it! The instant download gives you access to the audio and manual seconds after you purchase it.

Bottom Line? I’ve reviewed tons of products and this one really shines. MyGuitarGuide.com readers have also given it very high marks, and if you really aren’t happy there’s a money back guarantee. The best part of the course, hands down, is that it really opens up your ears to new sounds and will make you a better musician. I strongly recommend you check out Pure Pitch Method if you want to improve your skills.

Wishing you luck,
