Gibson Acoustic Guitars

The gentler side of the family, Gibson acoustic guitars provide a whole different type of vibe than an electric. There are some out-there axes like the Gibson harp guitar, and plenty of more straightforward 6 strings. Actually, the acoustics were in production years before the electric guitar was even invented, so there’s a lot of rich history there. While Gibson doesn’t really “own” the acoustic guitar market like they do the electric guitar market, they still make some darn fine ‘coustic gee-tars.

Looking to buy an Acoustic guitar?AMS has my absolulte highest recommendation… I wish I’d used these guys all along

When you think of melting a girl’s heart or moving someone to tears with music, it’s probably an acoustic doing the job.

My favorite (if I have to pick) has to be the 12-String. While these guitars are a total hassle to tune and maintain, and they’re a bit harder on the old callouses, when played well they sound like Angels singing.

I don’t think there is a more pure tone on earth than a 12 string guitar played well…

The 6 string has it’s place though. It’s a great workhorse and songwriting tool. How do you know you’ve written a great song? If it sounds great by itself on an acoustic! If it sounds good solo, it’ll sound killer with the whole band playing along.

Some of the most famous songs in music history were written on an acoustic, and you can’t play a Les Paul by the campfire, right?

Gibson makes a ton of great acoustic guitars, including a slew of celebrity models, but these are a few standouts:

The Gibson J45

The Gibson L5

Gibson Dove Guitar

Gibson SJ200

Gibson Harp Guitar
